I’m Janelle Summers, CEO and founder of Side by Side Disability Services, and disability support isn’t just my work — it’s my life.

After years in government and not‑for‑profit services, and leading a team recognised with a Victorian Disability Support Workers Award, I saw a clear problem in the sector: too many services focus on filling beds instead of truly matching the right people with the right support.

Side by Side was created to change that.

We believe that thoughtful client matching and the right staff create stability, dignity, and equality for people with disability. When people feel safe, understood, and supported by workers who genuinely fit their needs, everything improves.
